Developing an Effective Retail
Deposit Pricing Process Workshop

In an increasingly competitive market, the job of raising retail funds at acceptable costs has become a #1 priority of management.  Ideas are discussed for CD specials and segmenting other deposit accounts. However, many questions remain on their impact, effective implementation, and barriers to execution.  We can help!

Attend these consulting workshops and work with the experts in crafting a cost-effective pricing strategy to manage your cost of raising retail deposits and combating the current yield curve pressure.

Here’s what others are saying about our workshops:

"Highly recommended!  FARIN workshops have contributed significantly to our strategic and tactical planning.  Every institution needs to think 'outside-the-box' and their workshops help us do this."

"Tom Farin & his staff not only offered a quality program at their Key West workshop but exceeded my expectation for information and ideas for me to take home to my Association to implement.  In addition, the networking opportunities and thought-provoking challenges among all attendees enhance the program and take-away value!"

Learning Objectives

This session is designed to teach those in charge of deposit pricing and acquisition a more effective method for determining the most profitable and appropriate strategies for meeting their institution’s funding needs.

Program Content

Throughout the course, participants will be directed through a series of activities and educational concepts that result in a full pricing audit of their institution’s deposit offerings, complete with competitive survey data and market share information.  This information is combined with business plan data to determine appropriate deposit strategies to meet institutions’ goals while managing their cost of funds.

As a pre-session assignment, attendees complete a pricing audit workbook to gather the necessary information for each deposit sector.  This data is the foundation for assessing various options.  Workshop participants will leave with a complete review of their institution’s entire deposit/funding strategy including a competitive analysis of survey data, suggested pricing rules, and strategies for new or reconfigured product offerings.

Program Prerequisites:   This program is designed for ALCO teams, pricing committees, retail deposit managers and senior management teams.

Program Level:  Intermediate.

Advanced Preparation: To get the most out of the workshop, we recommend that your management team spend time together in preparation.  You will need to complete the pre-session assignments as well as discuss with the team your current business objectives, capacity for prudent growth, current loan and deposit pricing philosophy, and more.  Upon receipt of your registration, we will send you a list of discussion items that will guide you through the preparation.
