Federal Home Loan Banks
The Federal Home Loan Banks are the single largest supplier of home mortgage credit in the United States and their more than 7,700 members. The FHLBs are privately capitalized, cooperative government-sponsored enterprises that were created by Congress in 1932. The System consists of 12 regional FHLBs.
